As a company we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and firmly believe that we supply and install some of the highest quality commercial door products on the market. However, as with any business, it is important that you never stand still and continually look at what else is out there in the industry. It is always good to get out of the office to interact with not just potential clients, but also our peers to see what other people are doing and what we can learn.
Our industry is filled with a wide variety of trade shows and exhibitions; though this week’s Retail Shopfitting and Display Summit has always been a standout event. Now into its eighth year, the summit took place on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th February, and was hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel, London Stansted. The show believes in the “less is more” approach and would rather bring together a select group of relevant professionals and companies; as opposed to filling a larger venue with people who have no authority to make purchasing decisions.
This year’s event was the biggest event so far and was being attended by senior representatives of leading brands, including:
- Marks and Spencer
- WH Smith
The event offered a fantastic opportunity for suppliers, such as ourselves, to get a foot in the door with these major companies and demonstrate what we have to offer. Attending suppliers covered all aspects of shopfitting, ranging from audio/visual equipment through to display stands, whilst the event’s gala dinner and evening entertainment were as ever an excellent opportunity to build contacts with some of the key figures in the industry.
